Launch of new ZYN variant underscores PMFTC’s commitment to smoke-free future

PMFTC, the Philippine affiliate of Philip Morris International (PMI), has launched a new, limited-edition variant and updated packaging for its ZYN nicotine pouch brand in the Philippines. 

PMI announced in 2016 its bold mission of transforming into a smoke-free company.

The new product is ZYN Bright Green 1.5mg, which is described as having a distinctly zesty taste. The new can design features a “modern, bold and original aesthetic.”

“Nicotine pouches are a core element in our portfolio of science-backed smoke-free products, helping make cigarettes a thing of the past. We believe that no single smoke-free product can satisfy the preferences of all adult smokers, that is why a diverse and scientifically substantiated portfolio is necessary to support people who smoke in their decision to stop smoking cigarettes,” said Gijs de Best, president of PMFTC Inc.

PMFTC launched the “bold, modern and simple” brand identity as more Filipinos choose smoke-free alternatives. The new variant will be available at IQOS stores in Metro Manila and on ZYN.com starting November 2025.

ZYN contains nicotine derived from tobacco but without tobacco leaf. The product contains nicotine and other food-grade ingredients, but no tobacco. Its redesigned can packaging reflects a modern, bold and original aesthetic—a design evolution reflecting the brand’s commitment to celebrate personal rhythms and elevating everyday moments.

The launch event was a celebration for the ZYN community and featured music that represents the “energy and rhythm” of ZYN’s five core variants, reimagined through sound. 

Guests were also given access to the “ZYN experience room,” an immersive space showcasing the brand’s evolution, and the “Refresh lounge” for connection, music and movement.

With its refreshed packaging and the country’s first limited edition nicotine pouch, ZYN strengthens its position as the world’s leading nicotine pouch brand.
